My name is Frederica M. Ramires (Dolly) I have been in martial arts for over 40 years. I am the head instructor and proud owner of Ramires ATA Black Belt Academy established December 10th 2007. For the past 15 years I have dedicated myself to my students and their martial arts goals. I am a retired police officer after 22 years and held the title of Corporal, Sergeant, and Chief. I have been trained in pressure point control tactics, sexual harassment and rape prevention. I believe my background in law enforcement has given me a different perspective on self defense and how to properly ensure all our students young and old have the tools to defend themselves. As a 4th degree black belt in the American Taekwondo Association (ATA) I have held titles in ATA Xtreme Forms, ATA Xtreme Weapons, Combat Weapons, Sparring, Creative Forms, Creative Weapons, Traditional Forms and Traditional Weapons. I am a certified instructor with the ATA. I trained in Little Rock Arkansas at the ATA International World Headquarters. I am also a level 3 Krav Maga instructor and train in Jacksonville Florida at the Warrior Krav Maga training center multiple times a year.
I believe martial arts has a positive impact on children and adults alike. From learning self control, focus, confidence, social skills, and self defense, they learn to build respect for oneself and others while also learning leadership skills. Nothing brings me greater joy than to watch my students thrive, not only in martial arts, but in all aspects of their life. We celebrate our students wins in and out of the dojang.
At Ramires ATA Black Belt Academy we teach Tiny Tigers age group 5-7, Karate for Kids (K4K) 8 and up, and adults in taekwondo. We also offer Warrior Krav Maga classes (15 and up), and ladies self defense classes.
